The Avatar of Diaspora Plateau (design development)

Project Name : The Avatar of Diaspora Plateau

Avatar (computing) :

In computing, an avatar is the graphical representation of the user or the user's alter ego or character. It may take either a three-dimensional form, as in games or virtual worlds, or a two-dimensional form as an icon in Internet forums and other online communities

Diaspora :

diaspora (from Greek διασπορά, "scattering, dispersion") is "the movement, migration, or scattering of people away from an established homeland or "people dispersed by whatever cause to more than one location", or "people settled far from their ancestral homelands"

In Southwest China, many Tibetan people emigrated to India, following the 14th Dalai Lama in 1959 after the failure of his Tibetan uprising. This wave lasted until the 1960s, and another wave followed when Tibet was opened up to trade and tourism in the 1980s. It is estimated that about 200,000 Tibetans live now dispersed worldwide, half of whom in are IndiaNepal and Bhutan. In lieu of lost citizenship papers, the Central Tibetan Administration offers Green Book identity documents to Tibetan refugees.

Plateau (Tibetan Plateau) :

is a vast, elevatedplateau in Central Asia or East Asia covering most of the Tibet Autonomous Region and Qinghai Province in western China, as well as part of Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir. It stretches approximately 1,000 kilometres (620 mi) north to south and 2,500 kilometres (1,600 mi) east to west. With an average elevation exceeding 4,500 metres (14,800 ft), the Tibetan Plateau is sometimes called "the Roof of the World" and is the world's highest and largest plateau, with an area of 2,500,000 square kilometres (970,000 sq mi) (about four times the size of France).

In this Update : I'm creating a cone of vision with a 22mm lenslength then subdivide this plane of vision into smaller fragments ( Really small to begin with so that when they got scaled up they will be in a manageable size and not ended up too big). Then after the plane of vision got subdivided into smaller squares, each of these squares 4 corners are drawn and connected by the perspective lines outwards to the eixisting buildings and infrastructures. Then whenever these lines intersect with the buildings or "another reference planes" then this square became a surface. By continueing this process to all the subdivisions, I'm able to create a complete image once viewed at the exact location where the camera is generated or otherwise fragmented into dispersed and scattered planes as the name of the project suggests "The Avatar of Diaspora Plateau".

During the experimentation, some of the subdivisions that lie in the centre of the plane of vision ended up having no reference plane to map these square on, so I created a referential ellipse for these line to intersect with, then this ellipse slowing got cut bit by bit into smaller panels, making up the information dome/sky.

This is the view toward south and east streets.

View toward east street.

A complete view of the image when a person is stationary at one specific vantage point.

Image will start to become scattered and fragmented if one change viewing position.

A view down at the street level looking up toward the project.

A view of these reference lines depicting every possible cone of visions.
